Calculator Call

Have you ever noticed how much a calculator looks like a cell phone? Neither had I until Sophia snatched mine while we were out shopping and appeared to try and talk to someone on it. It kept her entertained most of the way home from the pet store, until she couldn't open it. Which makes me wonder... why did someone decide that calculators needed to be difficult to open?
